PAPRIKA

Designed in collaboration with Kang Ma, this issue of Paprika focuses on contemporary architecture’s obsession with fetishizing personas, aesthetics, establishing camps and crafting a storyline that awards persuasion over quality. As graphic designers we turned to mockups which are ready-made 3d rendered or photographed images of empty printed works that allow users to place their content in. While they aim to achieve an individualised appeal to their works by addition of in-situ props such as monstera leaves, coffee cups and croissants, they counteract their function when the same mockups are used by a large majority of the graphic designers.
